1960's Marble Bathroom Transformation!

This bathroom was in desperate need of renovation! Unfortunately, we've lost the before photos of the old bathroom, but never mind! The layout was virtually the same, except the toilet has now been moved from beneath the window to the left hand corner wall which has made the bathroom feel like there's a lot more space. All of the plumbing needed renewing along with the exterior soil stack and guttering down pipe needing relocating too, to accommodate the new toilet location. The walls were completely stripped back to the bare brick, whereby we exposed old rusty pipework which also needed removing from the rear wall! New electrics were installed for wall lighting, down lights and timed extractor fan. The walls and ceiling where then plastered and painted with a beautiful neutral grey coloured moisture resistant bathroom paint. All of the plumbing for the bath and shower was concealed within the 'floor to ceiling' boxed in area you see at the end of the bath. I constructed the boxing from CLS timber and installed plumbing for concealed shower mixer, rain shower and bath filler. The bath overflow outlet also had concealed pipework connected to the shower mixer which filled the bath and also controlled the temperature of the bath water. I also installed a rather neat inset shelf so that shampoos could be easily stored conveniently out of the way. White marble was then installed within the bath area which looks really lush! All in all this was a fantastic challenge which took a lot of forward planning by both myself and my customers, Sally and Nacho. Project duration, 17 days.
