1970's Luxurious Bathroom Transformation!

Solihull Bathrooms have been busy again and wanted to share this interesting project with you. This was not an average run of the mill bathroom installation as it required a great deal of preparation and modifications to make this tired and outdated space become a dream bathroom.

We are often asked our thoughts and advice on how more space can be gained in a bathroom and on this occasion we were delighted to offer our suggestion of extending the bathroom outward above the stairs by 16 inches to gain extra space for a bathroom storage cupboard. You will see from the video how I constructed a stud wall above the stairs to accommodate the new cupboard inside the bathroom. From the inside of the bathroom, a carcass was constructed for the new cupboard to include three internal shelves and an inset shelf beneath for storing soaps and toothpaste etc. The cupboard I'm sure you would agree is a real bonus to enable the storage of bed linen and towels etc.

The customers decided upon a freestanding corner bath as this both looked traditional and offered a practical solution for showering. The over all finish of the bathroom was a mixture of both modern and traditional furnishings. and whilst retro tiles were installed on the walls, LED spotlighting was installed in the ceiling. LVT flooring (Luxury Vinyl Tiles) were installed on the floor to help create a warm look and feel throughout the room.

In addition, I also refurbished the separate WC using the same retro wall tiles and LVT flooring.
