'What a Transformation!' Beautifully Combined Bathroom & Shower Room
Solihull Bathrooms have been very busy this month converting a tired bathroom in to a beautifully designed bathroom & shower room. This was a challenging task because unfortunately, the bathroom was in need of some very important preparation before the cosmetic work could begin.
The main issues we found were with severe weakness in the floor. The bathroom floor had been chopped and hacked about where it had previously been removed in parts to gain access to pipework. The floor was found to be badly flexing in parts which is unsuitable for installing floor tiling on to. We therefore installed many timber supports and replaced sections of the flooring before installing a 12 mm plywood sheeting over the complete floor. This resulted in a very firm floor which we were now able to install floor tiling on to.
Due to the new shower being installed and the basin and towel radiator being relocated to opposite walls, a lot of ground work plumbing was installed to make all this possible.
Finally when the plumbing and flooring had been taken care of, the ceiling was over boarded with new plaster board and plastered. LED spot lights were then installed with a new extractor fan. Finally, the new bath was installed and the walls made good in readiness for tiling. Like all our bathroom installation projects, preparation is key and no part of this process can ever be compromised.
Finally after the wall and floor tiling installation had been completed, we were able to fit the finishing touches to make this beautiful bathroom come to life! Please take a look at the video below to see how the complete project unfolded from start to finish.
