Luxury Compact Shower Room Conversion!

This months project was spent converting a tired bathroom to a modern and contemporary shower room. The biggest challenge I had was concealing the thermostatic shower and related pipe work within solid brick walls. This of course meant that there was a lot of channeling out to do so that the pipework could be hidden behind the tiling. Once all that was out of the way, I could then concentrate on installing all new waste pipe work beneath the floor for the shower and basin. Some floor boards were replaced in the process and afterwards the entire floor was boarded over using best grade 12 mm ply wood. The next stage was to concentrate on making the walls good and flat in readiness for tiling. After that, I focused on scraping the old artex off the ceiling so that the ceiling could be plastered to a nice smooth and perfect finish. Wiring for LED spot lights was installed and the ceiling light switch replaced for a wall mounted light switch located outside of the bathroom. Once the ceiling was plastered, the walls were then tiled using ceramic tiles. The ceiling was painted using mould resistant bathroom paint before installing porcelain tiles on the floor. I then installed the wall hung basin vanity unit, shower enclosure, radiator and toilet. Last of all, an LED mirror cabinet was installed with complimentary chrome/glass shelves above the toilet.
